Frisco Independent School District Director of Business Applications and Process Earns Laserfiche Award
Laserfiche introduced the Nien-Ling Wacker Visionary Award in 2016 to honor executives who have the foresight and vision to drive transformation throughout their organizations by leveraging Laserfiche enterprise content management (ECM) software. At the Empower 2017 Conference, Laserfiche presented the award to Bob Allen, Director of Business Applications and Process at Frisco Independent School District, for being an instrumental force for process optimization at the school district and across the state of Texas.
With three decades of IT experience working with Fortune 500 companies, Allen today pioneers a strategic view of Laserfiche as the foundation for Frisco ISD’s information management. Frisco ISD is the fastest growing school district in the state, thanks in part to its innovative technology initiatives that improve productivity and enable scalability.
“Frisco ISD’s Laserfiche system has saved the district significant administrative operating costs,” Allen said. “Many departments now handle 25 percent more activity with the same level of staffing, and we’re able to offer improved value to the students, parents and taxpayers.”
Under Allen’s leadership, the Laserfiche implementation at Frisco ISD has extended beyond secure digital information management to foster a culture of efficiency districtwide—from invoice processing and new staff onboarding to academic servicing that can drive higher student performance.
“The future plans for our Laserfiche ECM platform is limited only by our own imagination,” Allen said.
“Bob uses a deep understanding of best practices, technology and process for positive change—whether that means enabling staff members to reclaim hours of their workday or facilitating effective collaboration across the school district,” said Linda Ding, Director of Strategic Marketing at Laserfiche. “His work and advocacy are an inspiration to the entire Laserfiche community.”
Involved in his local community as a member of the Frisco City Council, Allen approaches those responsibilities with the same forward-looking vision and focus on efficiency and better service delivery to citizens. He presents at numerous national and local conferences, including the Carnegie Foundation, American Productivity and Quality Center, and Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators. His perspective on optimizing process management has also been featured in numerous publications.
“Our founder, Nien-Ling, was a pioneer and an inventor, and she could identify what people needed often before they could see it for themselves,” said Chris Wacker, Laserfiche CEO. “She would have admired Bob Allen’s determination and passion for using technology to transform people’s lives.”
The awards ceremony took place during the Laserfiche Empower Conference 2017 in Long Beach, CA.
